BRIDGEPORT — West Virginia Wesleyan senior pitcher Hannah Hudson was named the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week last Monday, April 18 for the second time this season; after previously earning the honor on March 15.
Over the past week, Hudson went 5-0 in games, highlighted by notching no-hitter against Wheeling on Saturday, April 16. Hudson’s game one performance against Wheeling helped the West Virginia Wesleyan (24-11-1, 14-4 MEC) softball team take a crucial doubleheader sweep over the Cardinals.
The native of Blackstone, Virginia, tallied 29 innings pitched and struck out 29 batters while only surrendering 14 hits, six earned runs and five walks over the span of those five games.
Hudson tossed four complete, 7-inning game victories versus four different MEC opponents, Charleston, Davis & Elkins, Wheeling and West Liberty.
Hudson has been a standout for the Lady Bobcats in the circle thus far this season, striking out 125 hitters in 119.1 total innings pitched. She will look to keep the Bobcats in the hunt for a MEC title, as the team leans into her talent and with her top-notch play from the circle to lead them down the stretch.
