BRIDGEPORT — Charleston’s Nathan Stout is the Mountain East Conference Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week, while West Virginia Wesleyan’s Faith Gandy was selected as the Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Stout, a senior from Glenville, W.Va., had a strong start to the outdoor season at the Brandi Bowen Invitational hosted by Glenville State. Stout took first in the shot put with a throw of 16.25 meters and was runner-up in the discus (46.01m) and hammer (52.25m).
Gandy, a sophomore from Washington, Pa., picked up three wins at the season opener Brandi Bowen Invitational over the weekend. Gandy was a winner in the 100 meters (12.28), 200 meters (25.56) and was a member of the 4x400 relay that took first (4:17.18).
