WVWC to offer summer tennis camps


BUCKHANNON — This summer West Virginia Wesleyan’s assistant tennis coach Emanuel Mallya will be offering area youth both private and group tennis lessons. Lessons will be for ages 5 and up and will be held at the indoor tennis court at WVWC.  

The group lessons will be broken down into a total of three sessions. Each session last three weeks each, with matches held twice a week on Monday and Wednesday. Prices for the group lessons are set at $120 per session. 

Group lessons will be scheduled as follows: the first session will be held starting June 6 to June 20, the second session will start on July 11 and wrap up on July 25, and the third and final session kicks off on August 8 conclude on August 22.  

A week break will occur in-between sessions for make-up lessons and tournaments, another two-week pause will occur after the conclusion first session allowing time for participants to celebrate of the 4th of July with family and friends. 

The price for private lessons is set at $30 for a one-hour lesson. These private lessons can be scheduled at any reasonable time any day that their schedule allows. A new offer debuting this summer is for doubles partners lessons, aimed at partners that want to learn to play doubles together and improve their on-court chemistry. Prices for the doubles partners lessons start at $30 per team. Participants can choose to either do both or stick with one.
