WVWC soccer duo of Fay and Pireu earn USC Scholar All-South Region honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kayla Fay and Natalie Pireu of West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer were named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region team, the association announced Tuesday.

A senior midfielder from Howell, N.J., Fay was a two-time All-MEC Second Team selection. In the 2021 spring season, Fay scored three goals including two in a single game on April 9 against Alderson Broaddus. Fay recently graduated from WVWC and is now pursuing veterinary school at Virginia Tech. 

Pireu is a junior defender from Granville, Ohio. She finished tied for the team lead in points (7) in the 2021 spring campaign after scoring three goals and adding an assist. Pireu was named a Bobcat women's soccer team captain for the upcoming fall season.
