WVWC graduate, author to hold signing at WVSF

BUCKHANNON  The 2022 West Virginia Strawberry Festival (WVSF) will welcome Berkley County teacher, Kacy Harmon, at Argo Books for a book signing. The book signing will take place on Saturday, May 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Harmon began writing the book in December of 2020 as a Christmas gift for her cousin and her cousin’s husband. They had just had a baby and Harmon could not figure out what a good gift would be, so she began writing. She gave them a map of the state of West Virginia with a checklist from Etsy and a gift card for them to travel and spend time together. Her book, “My West Virginia Adventure Journal,” finally published recently and is currently available on Amazon.

Harmon was born and raised in Berkley County and is on her fifth year of teaching. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2017 and began teaching shortly after.

The book is an activity book with the purpose for families to get out and spend time together exploring the beautiful state of West Virginia and everything it offers. All 55 counties are included with what each county offers for activities as well as fill-in-the-blanks for children to write their experiences in each county as well as the time it took them to travel there.

Harmon encourages everyone who already has purchased a book to bring it with you to the signing as there is a limited amount available for purchase. “I look forward to seeing everyone at the Festival,” expressed Harmon.
