BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan College’s new director of alumni affairs took advantage of every opportunity as a student here.
Kobe Vinegar ’22 holds his Masters in Business Administration in human resource management as well as a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in communication.
And it was his experiences here that led Vinegar to return to the college – this time as a staff member focused on connecting with alumni.
“From day one, I felt as if I was always engaged in the Wesleyan community,” Vinegar said. “A lot of things that I did from the organizations I was part of to the people who I met have propelled me to take this position.”
As a student ambassador, Vinegar said he was able to introduce people to West Virginia Wesleyan College and feels those experiences especially shaped him for the role of director of alumni affairs.
Since coming on board, Vinegar has begun working to build connections with alumni – both recent and those more experienced.
“I’m excited,” he said. “It’s good to be back. I’m having a great time with the team and I have already met some of our wonderful alumni.”
Dr. Dedriell Taylor, vice president for institutional advancement and development, said, “We are happy to have Kobe on board as we work to strengthen the alumni ties with West Virginia Wesleyan College.”
Vinegar will be helping to welcome alumni back to their Home Among the Hills as West Virginia Wesleyan College celebrates Homecoming Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
