BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan College students and faculty celebrated National College Colors Day by wearing orange and black on Friday. Bobcats happily gathered in front of the Benedum Campus Community Center for a group picture.
National College Colors Day became official in 2004, when it was founded by the College Licensing Company.
According to Leah Ripley, admissions counselor at WVWC, the college started celebrating this day “about four or five years ago.”
This year, the top three students who were considered to have the most spirit in their dress received prizes.
Observed the Friday before Labor Day every year, National College Colors Day gives students across the country the opportunity to show their support for their school.
