WVWC A&T dominates Glenville State


GLENVILLE — The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats acrobatics & tumbling team (1-1) knocked off the Glenville State Lady Pioneers (0-2) on this past Sunday afternoon, February 27, inside the Waco Center. 

 The Bobcats started the meet off strong with a 33.05-33.10 win in the Compulsory event. The Pyramid Heat team scored a 9.50 out of 10 possible points.

 In the Acro heat, the 5-Element team consisting of Kayla Gandy, Emily Dengel, and Tiara Stokes posted a score of 9.55. The 6-Element team of Stokes, Joniah Howell, Gandy and Caitlin Josef earned a 9.45 in the following event. The Bobcats claimed victory in the Acro event 26.90-22.30.

 The Inversion Pyramid and the Synchronized Pyramid teams both recorded scores above the 9.00 mark. The Pioneers won the Pyramid event 26.40-25.55. The Bobcats held an 85.50-78.80 lead at the break.

 The 450 Salto team of Alejandra Ditchen, Megan Miles, Kayla Wade, Stokes, Sydney McKinnon and Josef turned in a strong performance with a score of 9.35 out of 9.90. Wesleyan won the Toss event by a final talley of 25.75-20.05.

 In the Tumbling event, Howell scored 8.175 in the 6-Element Pass. Ditchen followed up with an 8.70 in the open pass routine. The Bobcats won the Tumbling event by a final score of 45.575-39.000.

 The Bobcats capped off the meet with a Team Event performance of 87.89. WVWC improved their overall score by over ten points from the first meet, as the Bobcats cruised to a 244.715-210.990 victory.

The West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling team will welcome Alderson Broaddus to Buckhannon for their home opener on Sunday, March 6 at 6 p.m.
