WVWC acrobatics & tumbling set to begin on March 1

BUCKHANNON - The West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling announced its schedule for the 2021 season. The schedule features Mountain East Conference competitions held in March and early April.

The top four qualifying teams will advance to the MEC Championship held April 9-10 at Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont, W.Va.

The Bobcats will begin their season on the road against Fairmont State on Monday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. The Fighting Falcons posted a 4-0 record in the 2020 shortened-season. Wesleyan's first home competition will be on Monday, March 8 at 6 p.m., when the Bobcats host West Liberty. The Bobcats hold a 2-1 all-time record against the Hilltoppers.

The next competition for Wesleyan will be at home on March 18 at 6 p.m. against Frostburg State. This is Frostburg State's first season competing in Acrobatics & Tumbling. On March 25, WVWC will travel east on U.S. Route 33 to compete against the Senators of Davis & Elkins. The acrobatics & tumbling team's regular season will conclude at home against Glenville State on April 1 at 6 p.m.

MEC schedules are contingent upon the ability to conduct sport while adhering to state and local guidelines and COVID-19 surveillance testing at each member institution utilizing conference guidelines.
