BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Acro & Tumbling team saw an improvement in their second outing of the season, but they still dropped a 253.445-244.135 decision to West Liberty in their home debut Monday night in Rockefeller Center.
Wesleyan dropped all four events in the compulsory falling behind by a 36.30-33.30 score. The biggest deficit for Wesleyan occurred in the tumbling heat which they lost by an 8.25-6.20 score.
In the acro, Wesleyan won Heat 2 (6 Element) by a 9.20-8.35 score and won the acro overall by a 27.80-27.10 score.
In the pyramid, Wesleyan won Heat 3 (Open) by a 9.70-9.65 score but lost the overall pyramid scoring by a 28.85-27.80 margin.
Wesleyan trailed after the first half by a 92.25-88.90 score.
In the toss, Wesleyan took two of the three events.
They won Heat 1 (450 Salto) by an 8.80-8.65 score and Heat 2 (Synchronized) by a 7.95-7.85 score but dropped Heat 3 (Open) by a 9.00-8.65 score.
Wesleyan was edged overall in the toss by a 25.50-25.40 score despite winning two of the three events.
The Lady Bobcats took two of the six tumbling events (Duo Pass and 6 Element Pass) but lost it overall by a 49.525-45.425 score.
West Liberty took the team event score by an 86.17-84.41 score to secure the win.
The Lady Bobcats will return to action at home next Thursday against Frostburg State. The meet will start at 6 p.m.
