WVWC acro & tumbling fall in season finale to Frostburg State

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan acro & tumbling team dropped a 251.750-250.145 decisions to the visiting Frostburg State Bobcats Tuesday night in Rockefeller Center.

Wesleyan started strong and opened the meet by winning the compulsory event 34.90-34.75. WVWC won the acro heat convincingly by a score of 9.10-7.10.

WVWC continued to roll in the acro competition and won by a score of 28.20-27.10. The 6 element team of Sydney McKinnon, Megan Miles, Kaelin Withrow, and caller Talia Cooper won 9.45-7.85.

Wesleyan closed out the first half and won the pyramid competition 28.35-27.65. The home team held a 91.45-89.50 lead at the intermission.

Wesleyan was victorious in the toss event 26.15-25.95. The Bobcats won the 450 salto heat 8.85-8.65 and the open heat 9.05-8.70.

Frostburg State took the lead by winning the tumbling event 49.250-45.075. FSU won every heat of the tumbling event. WVWC trailed by 2.025 points prior to the team event.

Wesleyan won the team event 87.47-87.05. But WVWC could not close the gap and Frostburg State won the meet 251.750-250.145.

The event closed out the year for the team as they finished the year with a 1-3 record.
