Lord and Lady with WVSF Royalty

BUCKHANNON — On Friday, May 20 at 1 p.m., the 2022 West Virginia Strawberry Festival (WVSF) Lord and Lady were crowned. The event took place at the Upshur County Senior Center in Buckhannon. Many members of the community were present for the event, including the 2022 WVSF Royalty.

The event began with an introduction of the 2022 WVSF Royalty by Pageant Director Kristie Spencer Tenney.  Hostess Princesses Breanna Morgan and Katherine Tenney were announced followed by WVSF Jr. Teen Queen Madison Burnside, WVSF Mrs. Queen Kari Beth Park, WVSF Ms. Queen Susie Potter. Next was the introduction of WVSF Teen Queen Cadence Ringer. Then WVSF King Franklin Bush Jr. and Queen Kelsey Hill were introduced.

Tenney then announced the Lord and Lady to be crowned, David and Sue Wolfe. Lord David Wolfe was then crowned by WVSF King Franklin Bush Jr., while Lady Sue Wolfe was crowned by WVSF Queen Kelsey Hill.

After the crowning, Upshur County Senior Center Director Tracie Thompson spoke on the event and shared her happiness for the day’s events, in addition to the return of many Senior Center events that have been growing steadily following the recovery from COVID-19. Thompson also thanked all those who were a part of the event, as well as sponsors, including Fast and Friendly Pharmacy.

After the event royalty gathered for photo opportunities and then the Senior Center carried out additional activities for the day including their strawberry capping activity. Congratulations to the 2022 WVSF Lord and Lady!
