W.Va. DHHR COVID-19 update – May 23


CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of May 23, 2022, there are currently 2,501 active COVID-19 cases statewide. There have been three deaths reported since the last report, with a total of 6,918 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

“As we mourn the West Virginia lives lost to this devastating virus, we must not lose sight of our power to prevent additional deaths and severe illness through vaccination and boosters,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.
