Strawberry enthusiasts will be able to find freshly picked, West Virginia grown strawberries at the Chamber & Visitor Center on Friday May 17th and Saturday May 18th. Formally a project coordinated by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, the Strawberry Market was passed to the Upshur County Convention and Visitors Bureau after the 2018 WV Strawberry Festival.
Keeping the tradition of West Virginia grown strawberries is a vital role for the WV Strawberry Festival. Laura Meadows, director of the Upshur County CVB, states 'We're excited to be the site where farmers can showcase their hard work. All sale proceeds go directly back to the growers.' Three farmers from throughout the State plan to bring their berries to Buckhannon.
Strawberries will be $5 per pint. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. The Strawberry Market (14 East Main Street) will be open Friday May 17th from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday May 18th from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
