Wrestling Bucs host quad last week; go a perfect 3-0


TENNERTON – Prior to their Big 10 Conference championships this past Friday and Saturday, the Buckhannon-Upshur wrestling Buccaneers hosted a quad last Tuesday featuring Musselman, George Washington and Oak Hill.

The Bucs won all three matches, downing Musselman by a 57-23 score, beating George Washington by a 56-30 count and defeating Oak Hill by a 48-24 score

It was a special night for senior Breagan Pearson as well as he won his 100th match of his career. (Ed. Note: See an upcoming feature about Pearson and his 100th win in a future issue).

The Bucs had seven wrestlers go a perfect 3-0 on the night.

They were – Jeremiah Burkhammer (103 pounds), Aiden Wilson (113 pounds), Julius Hobbs (132 pounds), Nathan Cornett (138 pounds), Breagan Pearson (145 pounds), Trevor Randolph (152 pounds), and Luke Bohnsack (160 pounds).

Alex Bennett (220 pounds) had the other winning mark at 2-1.
