Wesleyan’s Crimm sets school record in indoor track opener

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan track teams opened the indoor season with strong performances across the board at the Youngstown State Invitational last Friday.

Junior Lauren Crimm set a new school record in the weight throw with a toss of 12.31 meters for the Lady Bobcats.

Wesleyan also had a pair of top 20 performances in the 60-meter hurdles from sophomore Austin Gresser (8.72) and freshman Ridge Dalrymple (8.73).

Junior Adam Romano posted a personal best of 9:46 in the 3,000 meters.

The 4x400 Relay team of Sean Fields, Isiah Robinson, Colin Chapman and Zac Abott posted a time of 3:31 to begin the year.

On the women’s side, Mykera Days advanced out of the 60-meter dash qualifying rounds with a time of 8.10. She would better that mark to 8.05 in the preliminary round.

Freshman Trisanya Mitchell advanced to the finals of the women’s triple jump, placing eighth with a mark of 10.95 meters.

The Lady Bobcats’ 4x400 relay ran a time of 4:21. The foursome included Laura Blake, Mykera Days, Zoey Vilasuso and Natalie Weithe.

Both Bobcat teams will be back on the track today and Saturday, competing in the Spire Invitational at Geneva, Ohio.
