TAMPA (Fla.) – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s track and field teams headed south for their outdoor opener on Friday competing in the Tampa Track Classic hosted by the University of Tampa.
On the men's side, the Bobcats started the day with a 1-2 finish in the 400 hurdles.
Austin Gresser and Ridge Dalrymple were able to get personal records in the events as well.
Gresser and Dalrymple came back in the 4x400 relay along with Tim Aloi and Scott Soucier to place fourth.
Lauren Leaman started off the day for the Lady Bobcats with a win in the 400 hurdles with a time of 65.77.
Jordan Lynn won the 100H with a great season opening time of 15.51, followed by Leaman in second.
Other big performances for the Lady ‘Cats included Caylee Painter finishing second in the 200 and Natalie Wiethe finishing third in the 400.
Leaman, Painter, Wiethe, and Rachael Englund ended the day in the 4x400 relay finish second in a time of 4:08
Both teams will be back in action in two weeks when they travel to UNC-Charlotte for the 49er Classic that begins on March 14 and will last until March 16.
