Wesleyan swimmers fall in dual meet to Indiana (Pa.)

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan swim teams suffered their first dual meet setbacks here last Friday against Indiana (Pa.) University.

The men dropped a 136-69 decision to IUP while the women 137-68 decision.

On the men’s side, Wesleyan won two events.

Arthur Assfeld won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:46.16 while Dominik Schopper won the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.12.

Wesleyan earned six runner-up spots and four third-place finishes.

On the women’s side, the Lady Bobcats won two events.

Rylee Jackson was victorious in the 50 free with a time of 25.45 and Morgan Choffin took first in the 500 free with a clocking of 5:30.51.

The women took four runner-up spots and two thirds.

Both teams now have a 3-1 record in dual meets.

They both will return to the pool today in the two-day Ohio Wesleyan Corbiere-Merion Invitational.
