Wesleyan picked sixth in 2021 MEC lacrosse preseason coaches poll


BRIDGEPORT — Frostburg State is the favorite to win the 2021 Mountain East Conference women's lacrosse championship, the league announced today after a vote of the league coaches.

Frostburg State finished atop the poll with 24 points, including four first-place votes. The Bobcats went 2-2 in four games in their first season in Division II last year before the season was halted.

Notre Dame was tabbed second with 19 points and had one first-place votes.

The Falcons finished just ahead of Charleston's 16 points (one first-place vote).

Davis & Elkins (14), Alderson Broaddus (11) and West Virginia Wesleyan (6) rounded out the rest of poll.
