BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan football and head coach Tony Testa have announced the schedule that will be played in the spring of 2021. The schedule features five games against Mountain East Conference competition and two home games.
All MEC schedules are contingent upon the ability to conduct sport while adhering to state and local guidelines and COVID-19 surveillance testing at each member institution utilizing NCAA guidelines.
The MEC is splitting football into two divisions for the spring slate with the winner from each division playing for the conference championship in mid-April.
The Bobcats start the first two weeks of the season away from Buckhannon at West Virginia State on March 13 at 1 p.m. followed by a trip south to new MEC football member, UNC Pembroke at 12 p.m. on March 20.
WVWC plays host to Concord on March 27 in the home opener at Cebe Ross Field and welcomes Charleston to Buckhannon for a 1 p.m. kickoff on April 3. Wesleyan is scheduled to finish the season on the road at Glenville State on April 10 at 1 p.m.
The MEC is currently not allowing spectators at winter sports events. The league's Board of Directors will evaluate the policy no earlier than January 19, 2021. Updates on the spectator policy for other sports including football will be announced at a later date.
