Volleyball Little Lady Bucs fall to Mountaineer, 2-0


MORGANTOWN – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs dropped a straight-set decision to Mountaineer (Morgantown) here Monday night in varsity volleyball action.

They lost the opening game by a 25-14 count and fell in game two, 25-18.

Paula Vaughn led them in serving with six points, with McKinley Bonnett tallying five, Cat Neely adding four, and Kendal Currence contributing two.

Neely led in spikes with two, and in kills with two, with Vaughn topping them in tips with two. Tori Perkins, Bonnett and Currence shared the digs lead with two apiece.

The defeat put the Little Lady Bucs at 6-8 heading into Wednesday’s home outing with Robert L. Bland’s Lady Patriots on Eighth-Grade night.

They were to have traveled to Grafton Thursday night to face Taylor County’s Lady Knights.
