Upshur Schools remain remote through Nov. 6

BUCKHANNON — Upshur County Schools will continue to provide fully remote instruction through November 6, 2020. This is due to the fact that the West Virginia Department of Education's School Alert System color map on Saturday, October 31, indicated that community conditions have placed Upshur County in the Orange category.

Orange status indicates heightened community transmission. This means remote learning is required. Extracurricular activities are limited to conditioning only and sport-specific practicing is not permitted. Marching band is limited to outdoors only. Essential support services, including special education and meals, will continue.

We continue to comply with all directives of the West Virginia Department of Education, the WVDHHR and our local Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department. Our priority is the safety of our students, employees, families, and the community at large. We appreciate the patience and continued support of all our families and community partners and are so anxious to have our students back in school.
