Upshur man among 33 indicted on oxycodone charges

BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man is one of 33 individuals who have been charged in a 129-count federal indictment for oxycodone distribution unsealed Thursday.
Christopher Moriarty, 24, was listed in a press release which states he and the 32 other individuals named — all from Michigan and West Virginia — conspired with one another to operate an oxycodone distribution operation in the region, according to the press release from Acting U.S. Attorney  Steinfeld Jividen’s office.
Moriarty allegedly conspired to distribute oxycodone with the other named individuals in the indictment beginning in 2013.
In Count 4 of the indictment, Moriarty allegedly sold oxycodone for $120 in cash.
Count 118 of the indictment alleges that Moriarty and Makyna Kansco allegedly used a telephone system to distribute and conspire to distribute oxycodone with a person known to the grand jury.
The multi-agency arrest operation Thursday was led by the Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Force with a HIDTA-funded initiative.
In addition to Moriarty, the individuals who were indicted include Terry Thomas, a.k.a. “Top,” 44, of Detroit, Mich.; Michael Wesley, a.k.a. “Black,” a.k.a. “Big Flea,” 45, of Detroit, Mich.; Michael James Anthony, a.k.a. “Spook,” 42, of Detroit, Mich.; Christopher Lloyd, a.k.a. “Red,” 31, of Detroit, Mich.; Darmatrice Love, 32, of Detroit, Mich.; Robert Brown, Jr., a.k.a. “Pooh,” 23, of Detroit, Mich.; Andrew Thomas, a.k.a. “Bud,” 26, of Detroit, Mich.; Sean Miller Phillips, Jr., 24, of Eastpointe, Mich.; Devante Maddox, 25, of Detroit, Mich.; Konshawntas Boyd, 37, of Detroit, Mich.; Brianna Blackman, a.k.a. “BB,” 21, of Morgantown; Tiffany Edwards, 35, of Westover; Codey Bonnette, 25, of Morgantown; Leon Jamar Maddox, 34, of Fairmont; Amanda Gifford, a.k.a. “Mandi,” 25, of Morgantown; Floyd Pancoast, 24, of Pursglove; Jason Pancoast, 23, of Pursglove;Carlee Cuppet, 25, of Kingwood;  Brittany Brown, 31, of Stonewood; Ariel Blosser, 27, of Morgantown; Amanda Maddox, 32, of Morgantown; Brandy Miller, 28, of Salem; Anna May Martin, 31, of Westover; Kimberley Mozie, 36, of Morgantown; Jason Perry, 35, of Morgantown;  Holly Jo Exline, 22, of Dellslow; Makyna Kansco, 22, Crawford;  Marjorie Sue Webster, 23, Maidsville;  Thomas Keener, II, 22, of Fairmont;  Jayla Shade, 20, of Morgantown;  Jesse Tichenor, 25, of Morgantown; and Bobbie Jo Phillips, 30, of Morgantown.
 Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley is prosecuting the cases. The investigation was initiated as an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation. The U.S. Marshals Service, the Internal Revenue Service, the Monongalia County Processing and Transport Personnel, the Greater Harrison County Drug Task Force MHIT Group, the Mountain State Drug Task Force, the Three Rivers Drug Task Force-Fairmont and the Fairmont Police Department assisted in the arrest operation Thursday. In addition, West Virginia State Police and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office allowed the use of their spaces to coordinate the efforts.  
 Acting United States Attorney Steinfeld Jividen commended the work of all the agencies involved in the investigation, according to the release.
