Upshur County Senior Center Update

To all our clients and friends,

Due to new information and recommendations from the CDC, the Upshur County Senior Center has adapted its current plan for providing essential services in a safe, positive way for our clients. We will be doing the following:

> Meals on Wheels will deliver as normal unless further guidance from relevant organizations would recommend it cease.

> We will be providing emergency meals in case unexpected changes would require us to close.

> Congregate Meals will be pick-up meals until further notice. You can reserve a meal by calling us before 10:30 a.m. Meals can be picked up by driving up to our Nutrition Site doors (next to where our truck is usually parked). A staff member will bring you your meal and assist you.

> All classes, activities, and presentations have temporarily been cancelled.

> If you or a loved one encounters difficulty during this time, we do encourage you to reach out to us, as we will be looking to connect those in need with local groups who are able to help.

We hope that this measure is temporary, but understand that the best thing we can do right now is to promote social isolation and good hygiene. Please continue to practice frequent handwashing and coughing into your arm. Our staff is still maintaining our sanitizing of surfaces and will continue to keep informed on the current recommendations.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at (304) 472-0528.

We will continue to take the recommendations of state, local, and federal organizations into consideration and provide updated news as the situation changes. In addition, we have had questions regarding costs – meals of seniors 60+ are a suggested donation of $3 and is based off of income. Anyone else can purchase a meal for $6.
