Upshur County 4-H Archery begins this weekend

TENNERTON — The Upshur County 4-H Archery team will be starting practice this Sunday, November 7, 2021, in the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School gymnasium.

The Head Coach is Dave Riffle, and all administration aspects will be taken care of by his wife, Mimi Riffle. Tim Bryant will be the Assistant Coach.

This will be the 15th year for the archery program offered to grades 4-12. There is an elementary level, a middle school team, and a high school team. Everything is free and all equipment will be provided to the students. Parents and students are more than welcome to purchase their own equipment if they so choose, but it is not necessary. The only fees will be for parents to attend any tournaments.

Unfortunately, practice will not be open to the public, including parents, due to COVID restrictions. However, if a child is not able to make it to practice on November 7, parents may call Mimi Riffle to reschedule for another date and time. November 7 is not the cutoff for registration—there will still be time to make the team.

There will be some traveling throughout the season. All practices will be held on Sundays and tournaments will be on Saturdays.

For more information or questions, please contact Mimi Riffle at (304) 473-4208.
