Upshur Co. youth softball beats Randolph

ELKINS — Upshur County’s 12-U Buckhannon softball team, sponsored by Luby’s Equipment, had a huge victory over Randolph County on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Head Coach Sarah Kesling and Assistant Coach Neal Phillips were so proud of the team’s final score of 27-7.

In the first inning, Sofia Kesling, Maci Snyder, Eva Phillips, Naomi Hibbs, Reagan Russell, Isabel Lewis, Oakley Moriarty, Henley Tiffner, and Madison Brown all made a first-base hit. In the second inning, Isabel hit a double and Henley made the only home run during the game, helping secure the win for Upshur County. 

Reagan Russell hit a double in the third inning, followed by a single from Henley, Isabel, Kara Hildreth, Naomi Hibbs, Hudsyn Orr, Eva, Sofia, Madison, and Maci.

In the last inning, Henley, Isabel, Kara, Naomi, Hudsyn, Eva, Reagan, Maddie and Maci all hit a single. Oakley hit a single, but the opposition caught the ball, resulting in her out. 

Their next game will be on Thursday, October 7, in Tennerton against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m.
