BUCKHANNON — Veteran’s Day is right around the corner and a variety of local events have been planned to honor them. Chapel Hill United Methodist Church will be serving breakfast for veterans at 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. The Elks Lodge #1736 will also provide a breakfast for veterans at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 11.
Veterans of The American Legion Frank B. Bartlett Post #0007 will be coordinating the Veteran’s Day Parade this year, which will also be held on Monday morning. For additional information, please contact Ed Smith (1st Vice Commander) or Post Adjutant Mary Albaugh at 304-460-2017. Parade line up/staging area will be at the Gibson Library on Sedgewick Street at 8:30 a.m. The parade will start at 9 a.m.
Church groups, children and youth groups, princesses and princes, queens and kings, twirlers are all welcomed and encouraged to participate! Antique cars and jeeps are also welcomed.
The parade will end at Jawbone Park’s “Walk of Valor”.
The VFW #3663 will have their traditional Veteran’s Day Program at 11 a.m. and the public is invited.
