United Way to host Cornhole Tournament to fund local nonprofits


BUCKHANNON — United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur is hosting its first annual Cornhole Tournament to benefit 17 local non-profit agencies.

The family-friendly tournament takes place on Saturday, October 22 at the Aaron Harris Auction Center on Brushy Fork Road in Buckhannon. Both competitive and casual players are welcome to bring their own partner. Trophies and sets of bags will be presented to the top 3 teams. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. There will also be a Free Children’s Tournament beginning at 11 a.m.

“This fundraiser will provide support to United Way Partner Agencies who help those in need in the community each and every day,” said Beckie Sias, Executive Director of UW of GLU. “We are looking forward to people coming out to play cornhole, enjoy the day, and support our communities while having fun.” 

The cost is $30 per team. If you register as an individual, you will be paired with a teammate.
