UCHAA visits the capitol city

CHARLESTON — This past weekend, the Upshur County Homeschool Archery Association participated in one of the largest national archery tournaments in the school’s program tournaments so far this season, which was held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. The venue hosted both the NASP Bullseye event with 1,343 registered archers, as well as the First Annual Billy Shamblin Memorial 3D Tournament, an IBO event, with 146 registered archers.

In the IBO 3D tournament Clay Tenney (291, 21) took first place, Danielle Shaw (284, 18) placed third, Alyssa Lewis (272, 11) placed ninth, Lacy Tenney (225, 4) placed 56th, Hunter Bingaman (217, 5) placed 67th overall.

For the NASP Bullseye event Malachi Layfield placed fifth and Caleb Servetas placed sixth for the elementary school boys. Jeremy McDonald placed fifth and Josiah Layfield placed seventh for the middle school boys. Danielle Shaw placed second for the high school girls. Clay Tenney placed third for the high school boys. Overall, the middle school team shot a total score of 3102 and the high school team shot a total score of 3089. Overall results for Bullseye are as follows:
