UCHAA has strong showing at Poca Tournament

POCA — The Upshur County Homeschool Archery Association traveled to Poca, WV on Staurday, February 12, to shoot in the Poca High School Annual Archery Tournament. The team members have been working hard, putting in their practice time this season. The coaches have kept the team on task and focused. As a result, the team had another strong showing in this tournament, with five archers taking awards in the top three places in their respective divisions. Here are the results for UCHAA in the Poca Tournament:

In the Elementary Division, Malachi Layfield took 1st place, scoring 269 with 9 tens (boys), Caleb Serveta took 4th place, scoring 258 with 8 tens (boys), Lacy Tenney took 3rd place, scoring 240 with 4 tens (girls) and Harley Delawder took 7th place scoring 227 with 5 tens (girls).

In the Middle School Division, UCHAA middle team took 3rd place out of 9 teams, scoring 3069 total points with 91 tens and Josiah Layfield took 1st place, scoring 281 with 14 tens (boys).

In the High School Division, UCHAA high team took 7th place out of 9 teams, scoring 3140 points with 129 tens, Clay Tenney took 2nd place, scoring 289 with 19 tens (boys), Hannah Stevenson took 1st place, scoring 288 with 22 tens (girls), Alyssa Lewis took 7th place, scoring 283 with 15 tens (girls) and Danielle Shaw took 9th place, scoring 282 with 14 tens (girls).
