BUCKHANNON — A torrential downpour was to blame for two trucks colliding on Route 20 in Buckhannon at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. A gray Dodge Dakota reportedly lost control and struck a blue Ford truck, then proceeded over the embankment at the Professional Arts Plaza.
Cpl. Rodney Rolenson reported, “Nobody will be cited for the accident. It was an issue of inclement weather that caused the driver to lose control.” No injuries were reported at the scene.
The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident and is conducting the investigation. The Buckhannon Fire Department and Upshur EMS also responded to the scene. Central Towing was dispatched to tow the Dodge and the other vehicle was able to be driven away from the scene.
