Tim Dunford steps down as WVWC head men’s and women’s tennis coach

BUCKHANNON -- Head men's and women's tennis coach Tim Dunford has stepped down from his position, effective immediately.

Dunford arrived in Buckhannon in January to take over the tennis programs, and he led the men to a 5-3 record before the season was shutdown due to COVID-19. He inherited a senior-laden men's team favored to repeat as Mountain East Conference champions for the fourth straight season; the shortened 2020 Season included victories over Lincoln Memorial, Lees-McRae, Bloomsburg, Methodist, and Benedict.

The Lady Bobcats are also a program on the rise after reaching the MEC semifinals in 2019.

West Virginia Wesleyan athletics would like to thank Tim for his contributions in 2020, and wishes him luck in his future endeavors.

A national search for the next head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs will be begin immediately.
