NEW ORLEANS, La. — West Virginia Wesleyan sprinters Faith Gandy, Ny’Tierra Hobbs and Tanner Faulkiner were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Team, on Wednesday (June 22). The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors.
Gandy, a junior from Washington, Pennsylvania, took home all-region honors in the 100-meter dash. Gandy holds the outdoor school record in the 100-meter and finished first in the 100-meter at the 2021 Mountain East Conference Championships.
Hobbs earned all-region accolades in the 100 and 200 meters. Hobbs was the MEC Track Athlete of the Year and claimed both the 100 and 200-meter titles at the MEC Outdoor Championships. The Baltimore, Maryland native notched a qualification for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter dash.
Faulkiner garnered all-region honors in the 100-meter dash. The Philippi, West Virginia native ran a 10.93 and took second-place in the MEC Championships. Faulkiner earned Second-Team All-MEC for his performance in Glenville.
