Thomas Ellsworth Reed, 49, of Buckhannon, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Holbrook Nursing Home following an extended stay.
He was born in Buckhannon on April 12, 1971, a son of the late Henry Ellsworth and Myrtle Mae Bond Reed. Also greeting Tom at Heaven’s Gate are eight brothers: David Wilt, Harold Reed, Donald Reed, Denvil Reed, Larry Reed, Bob Reed, Junior Reed, and Bill Reed; and two sisters: Mildred Blagg and Jean Ward.
Those cherishing their memories of Tom are two sisters: Dorothy Rycroft and husband, Ken, of Elkins, and Sharon Quick and husband, John, of Buckhannon; two brothers: Jerry Reed and wife, Loretta, of Tallmansville, and Charles “Chuck” Reed of French Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1990. He was a member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. He liked to fish and enjoyed his pets. Tom worked at Pizza Hut in Buckhannon for 13 years and at Arby’s for about two years. He became disabled due to results of a stroke and he has resided at Holbrook’s Nursing Home for 15 years.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, services will be private, and burial will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery at Sago. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
