TENNERTON – High Point Construction and Arnett-Carbis-Toothman shared the lead as third-quarter play got under way last week in the Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League.
High Point Construction, fresh from claiming the second-quarter title posted a 21 ½ triumph over First Community Bank, and Arnett-Carbis-Toothman knocked off Custom Cabinets by the same score.
In the other match-ups, Hank Elis Insurance eked out a 20 ½-19 ½ decision over Sam’s Pizza, Lisa Cain-Edward Jones slipped past Highland Landscaping by a 21-19 count, and Hyre’s Well & Pump Service and Feola’s flowers scrapped to a 20-20 stand-off.
Doug Garrett of Feola’s Flowers was the Low Actual winner with a 37. Highland Landscaping’s Mike Tenney, Hank Ellis Insurance’s Dave Pitcher and First Community Bank’s Kenny Tenney carded 39s, and Lynn Helmick of Lisa Cain-Edward Jones followed with a 40.
The Low Net winner with a 31 was Dusty Zickefoose of Arnett-Carbis-Toothman. Stephen Cain of Lisa Cain-Edward Jones and pitcher turned in 32s, and Mike Tenney shot a 33.
The league will be idle July 3 and will resume action July 10.
