BUCKHANNON — The Social Bar & Grill held a successful Baked Steak Benefit Dinner Sunday afternoon from 1 to 6 p.m. to help raise money for Brandon Marfield and Logan Cutright who were injured in an August car accident.
The Social received a lot of positive feedback for hosting the dinner to benefit locals in need. “Somebody had come in and said this was ‘cool’ and ‘It was nice to know of this happening’ and you know, with everything going on in the world, it’s cool to take care of your town,” shared Bryson Clevenger, owner of The Social.
The dinners were $10 for baked steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, green beans, a roll and a choice of sweet tea or a coke product. Fish Hawk Acres donated brown gravy and Links donated mashed potatoes and rolls. They offered dine-in, carry-out or curb-side services.
Clevenger shared that they sold around 160 to 170 dinners and collected multiple donations, as approximately half of the customers overpaid. “It was awesome! Both boys showed up too and hung around while they could to thank people,” Clevenger said.
They do not have any other benefits planned at this time but for anyone who missed the dinner and may be interested in donating, please message The Social, Buckhannon WV Facebook page, Instagram @thesocialwv or call in at (304) 439-2609.
