The Record Delta welcomes Reed as intern writer

BUCKHANNONThe Record Delta would like to formally introduce Emily Reed as the newest intern writer.

Reed is originally from Teays Valley, West Virginia but is currently a student at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) entering her senior year as a communication major along with a minor in broadcasting.

While studying at WVWC, Reed has become very passionate about social activism, she loves to speak out for mental health awareness and equal rights amongst all people. She has dreams of becoming a journalist in her near future and is super excited about the opportunity to currently write for The Record Delta.

Reed’s favorite thing about Buckhannon is the dog that she rescued from the Lewis-Upshur Animal Shelter. Her beloved furry friend, Millie was dumped as a puppy. She says that Millie now lives a better life than any dog could have ever imagined. Reed even runs an Instagram account for her @dumpdogmildred.

Reed will always have a special place in her heart for West Virginia, especially where her family resides. She loves the people here and how kind everyone has been to her along the way. She cannot wait to see what the future holds for her and is excited to see where she may end up next.

Be sure to give her a warm welcome, as she plans to attend city and county meetings along with other local events!
