Terry Paul Bender, age 72, of Beverage Knob Road, Crawford, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his home.
He was born on February 17, 1949, at Goshen, a son of the late Paul Ernest Bender and Alma Hamner Bender McCray, who survives. On November 28, 1998, he was united in marriage to Diana L. Lane Bender, who also survives.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is also survived by three sons: Tony Bender and wife, Drema, of Walkersville, Craig Bender and wife, Trudy, of Rock Cave, and Philip Bender and wife, Tammy, of Rock Cave; one daughter, Laura and husband, Sonny Chidester, of Canaan; two stepdaughters: Jeana Carpenter and companion, Aaron Facemire, of Summersville, and Joanie and husband, Don Hoge, of French Creek; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers: Johnny McCray, of Colorado, and Marty McCray and wife, Lorie, of Adrian; four sisters: Sue Harris, of Buckhannon, Kay and husband, Dickie Putman, of Florida, Carla and husband, Chuck Canfield, of Buckhannon, and Gaila and husband, Jim Smith, of French Creek; several close friends; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one son, Chris Bender; one grandson, Keith Chidester; and one sister, Donna Bender.
Terry was an avid outdoorsman, but especially enjoyed fishing and going to his buddy Mike Wimer’s fish camp in Ohio.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Goshen Cemetery, where Pastor David Jessie will officiate.
