Tennis Bobcats split outings in Carolina


HICKORY (NC) – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s tennis team split a pair of games last week on their spring break trip of the Carolinas.

Last Monday, the Bobcats defeated Methodist University by a 7-2 score before falling to Lenoir-Rhyne University last Wednesday by a 7-0 score.

Against Methodist, Wesleyan won two of the three doubles matches and claimed five of the six singles outings.

In their battle with Lenoir-Rhyne, the home-standing Bears swept all seven points of the match.

The action left the Bobcats with a 4-2 record.

They were slated to wrap up their Carolina tour this past weekend with outings against Benedict College and Belmont Abbey College.

They will return to the courts Tuesday when they visit Ashland University for a 1 p.m. non-conference outing.
