Tennis Bobcats earn split to wrap up Carolina trip

BELMONT (NC) – The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat tennis team earned a split last weekend during their final action of their Carolina tour during their spring break.

The Bobcats defeated Benedict College last Friday by a 5-2 score but then dropped a close 4-3 decision to Belmont Abbey College on Saturday.

The action left the ‘Cats with a 5-3 record.

Against Benedict, the ‘Cats took a two of three matches in doubles action to get things started.

They finished off Benedict winning four of the six singles matches.

Earning single wins were Carlos Dodero at No. 2, Harry Simaioforidis at No. 3, Alex Lyudinovskiy at No. 4 and Thomas McIntosh at No. 5.

In the setback to Belmont Abbey, Wesleyan again won two of three doubles matches, but they were only able to pick up singles wins from Lyudinovskiy and Thomas McIntosh.
