St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizes Perinatal Nurses

BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing their perinatal nurses October 9 through October 15. Perinatal nurses are registered nurses who care for women through pre-conception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum, generally up until the newborn is at least a month old. One of the main tasks of these nurses is to provide education to pregnant women about their unborn child. With courage, compassion and resilience, they play a critical role in ensuring a patient’s healthy pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum experience.
