BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon has received one of the top rankings in the United States for patient experience. The five-star rating received is the highest rating possible, something that only 8 percent of hospitals nationwide achieve. The rating is according to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The data comes from CMS’s Care Compare which displays hospital performance data in a consistent, unified manner. The survey is based on ten patient experience domains which include: Nurse communication, Physician communication, Responsiveness of hospital staff, Communication about medications, Discharge information, Transitions of care, Cleanliness of hospital environment, Quietness of hospital environment, Overall hospital rating and the Likelihood to recommend the hospital to others.
“I am very proud of our hospital receiving this prestigious ranking,” said Skip Gjolberg, President and CEO. “This ranking was made possible because of the dedication of every employee in our hospital. It truly takes all of our team, providing the very best in patient care, that is reflected in this honor.”
