St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates National Physicians Assistant Week

BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing their Physicians Assistants as they celebrate National PA Week October 6th to 12th.  The first celebration was held on October 6, 1987 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the first graduating class of PAs.  October 6th is also the birthday of the profession’s founder Eugene A. Stead Jr., MD.

The recognition week is especially significant as it falls during a global pandemic.  PA’s are a valuable part of patient care and during this challenging time have proven themselves to be flexible, collaborative and above all essential.  St. Joseph’s Hospital thanks all of their PA’s for their hard work and commitment.
