LEWISBURG – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc soccer team used a huge first half against the homestanding Greenbrier East Spartans to record their first victory of the year Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Bucs scored four goals in the first half had made them stand up as they downed the Spartans by a 4-0 score.
The win left the Lady Bucs of head coach Jackie Zuliani with a 1-2 record.
Cameron Zuliani put the Lady Bucs on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 12th minute.
She took a pass from Miranda Greene to the left side and scored from 20 yards out.
Greene set up the next score as well playing a ball to Catherine Oliveto who ran onto the ball and scored in the 18th minute making it a 2-0 contest.
Oliveto played a pass to the center of the field to Chloe Cale who found the back of the net for the third B-U goal in the 31st minute.
Zuliani capped off the B-U scoring right before the half.
Ava Hollen had a breakaway down the right flank and had a dish to Zuliani who finished the attack with a goal.
Neither team was able to produce a goal in the second half.
The Lady Bucs owned a 18-4 advantage in shots-on-goal while having a 3-0 lead in corner kicks.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action today at Lincoln.
The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
