Soccer Lady Bucs post another shutout, blank Lincoln’s Cougars by a 6-0 score

SHINNNSTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur soccer Lady Bucs posted their second straight shutout as they easily dispatched of the homestanding Lincoln Cougars Tuesday evening by a 6-0 score in Big 10 Conference action.

The Lady Bucs were slow to start as they owned just a 1-0 lead at the half, but went on to dominate the second half for a 6-0 victory.

Senior Cameron Zuliani led the Buckhannon-Upshur offense with two goals and two assists in the victory.

Zuliani had the lone B-U goal in the first half as she took a pass from the middle of the field to the left side from Miranda Greene and found the back of the far corner net.

Zuliani wasted little time in getting the scoring going in the second half as she tallied an unassisted goal off the Lincoln keeper’s hands just 38 seconds into the half to give the Lady Bucs a 2-0 lead.

Lexi Kelley took a throw in from Zuliani and sent a shot to the right corner of the net to give the Lady Bucs a 3-0 lead.

Just two minutes later, Zuliani sent a cross to Ava Hollen who buried a shot past the Lincoln keeper upping the Buckhannon-Upshur advantage to 4-0.

Catherine Oliveto got into the scoring act in the 58th minute when she dribbled down the center of the field and scored on a shot five yards out.

Sheridan Phillips wrapped up the B-U scoring with a penalty kick in the 65th minute.

The Lady Bucs outshot the Cougars by a 15-10 margin and owned 4-1 lead in corner kicks.

B-U keeper Kyndal Davis made 10 saves while Lincoln keeper Delaney Haller stopped nine shots.

The Lady Bucs are now 2-2 on the season overall and 1-0 in the Big 10 Conference.

They are scheduled to visit Preston today at 5:30 p.m. and will follow that up with a home match Tuesday with North Marion at 7:30 p.m.
