Soccer Lady Bucs defeat North Marion with four point lead

TENNERTON — Buckhannon-Upshur High School Lady Bucs soccer team won against North Marion High School Tuesday with a score of 5 – 1. The game took place at the Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Tennerton.

The Lady Bucs led in the first half of the game with two goals, one by Catherine Oliveto and the other by Sheridan Phillips. Oliveto scored unassisted in the thirty-first minute with a direct kick from the right corner. The North Marion keeper then bobbled and dropped the ball for a goal. Nearing the end of the first half in the thirty-ninth minute, Phillips was assisted by Lexi Kelley for another goal. 

In the second half of the game, Oliveto shot a goal unassisted from 10 yards out in the forty-sixth minute.
Miranda Greene, assisted by Cameron Zuliani, scored in the sixty-second minute with a pass in box bringing the team’s score to 4. Eight minutes later, Kelley executed a direct kick from 20 yards out, off the keeper as the last play winning the game. 

Buckhannon-Upshur wins with a score of 5 – 1, beating North Marion in Buccaneers’ territory.
