Soccer Bucs suffer loss to Morgantown

TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur High School boys’ soccer team hosted Morgantown High School on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. The Bucs lost to Morgantown with a final score of 3 – 0.

“The score doesn’t show how well we played tonight. Morgantown is one of the favorites to come out of our region and for the most part, we held our own for 80 minutes. With the exception of two missed marks on a cross and a set piece, we kept the ball moving and definitely had the right intent with the ball,” stated Coach Mike Donato.

The Buccaneers’ Dalton Auvil had nine saves against the opposing team. Buckhannon-Upshur made five shots on goal, three corner kicks, and only three fouls. Donato said, “We just didn’t always have the best execution. The second half, we saw our best chances, but unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalize on those chances.
