BUCKHANNON — If you are a fan of NBC’s The Voice, then you are likely a fan of Season 13 finalist, Brooke Simpson. Simpson has made her way to Buckhannon, West Virginia and will be preforming at the Way of Holiness church this weekend. Simpson’s performance will be on Sunday, February 16, at the 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. services. Simpson’s husband, Ray, will also be speaking at the evening service. The service is free to the public and everyone is encouraged and welcome to attend. Don’t miss out on this powerhouse vocalist who is passionate about songwriting and people.
Simpson recorded her first song at just 2 years old, so she’s clearly no stranger to music. Growing up, Simpson and her family would travel from church to church across the United States to sing. Although influenced by her mother, Jimille Mills, the most, Simpson was also heavily influenced by Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, The Spice Girls, and many others.
As Simpson began to develop vocally, she eventually received the honor of Female Vocal Winner of the International Teen Talent competition. This accomplishment awarded her the opportunity to attend Lee University of Cleveland, Tennessee. Through this experience, Simpson dug deep into her songwriting ability and created her first solo EP. Shortly after this accomplishment, Simpson auditioned for NBC’s The Voice. She did not make it past the preliminary round her first go-around; however, four years later, Simpson was randomly contacted by a producer of the show, who asked her to give it one more shot. Simpson’s experience with The Voice was much different the second time around, as she received a four chair turn around, was able to work with Miley Cyrus one-on-one, charted the iTunes top 10 week after week, and finished 3rd place on the show’s Season 13.
Simpson has created quite the fan base and is now touring, writing and recording to share her talent. Simpson’s most recent song 2AM has charted on iTunes pop charts and is currently available on all music platforms.
Youth Pastor and Administrator at Way of Holiness, Thomas Akers, said, “We are honored to have Brooke Simpson join us at our church. She and her family have visited and ministered at our church several times over the years. It has been exciting watching her journey, and we are looking forward to seeing how God uses her to reach countless individuals through her faith and musical talent.”
Join the Way of Holiness congregation as they welcome Simpson to share her remarkable talent to the Buckhannon community on Sunday.
