Shreve, Little Lady Bucs both claim top honors in debut at Barbour County Cross Country Skirmish

PHILIPPI – Samantha Shreve took top honors for the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs in their 2019 debut last Friday at the Barbour County Skirmish last Friday at Philip Barbour High School.

Shreve posted a winning time of 14:23, a full 31 seconds ahead of second place Phaedra Payne of Belington who clocked a 14:54.

The Little Lady Bucs had two runners with top six placements as Chloe Brown took fifth with a time of 15:36 and Miah Reger was sixth with a time of 15:39.

Rounding out the Lady Bucs who scored were Channing Gillum placing 12th with a time of 16:40 and Brianna Dalton taking 13th with a clocking of 16:53.

The rest of the B-UMS line-up was Pressley Bowers (17:17), Kaydence Monti (18:17), Taylor Spratt (19:50), Alecsis Butler (20:33), Allie Frye (21:59) and Jordan Wells (23:37).

The Little Lady Bucs and Belington tied for the team lead with both teams scoring 33 points.

Robert L. Bland was third with 61.

The Little Lady Bucs will run again Sept. 14 at Bridgeport.
