Shoe Sensation hosts military appreciation event

BUCKHANNON — Saturday, September 17 was a special day at Shoe Sensation. The store located at 100 Skyline Plaza held a military appreciation event. It was a complete community effort as Shoe Sensation was joined by the Buckhannon-Upshur High School cheerleaders as the National Guard. The event was open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shoe Sensation Store Manager Genevia Jenkins shared, “We had a wonderful time. It was a great turn out. The National Guard was here and had displays and equipment. They also had a drawing for individuals to enter to win a vacation.” Jenkins spoke highly of the event and noted that the Buckhannon-Upshur High School cheerleaders were also present and held a bake sale.

Jenkins said, “Everyone that came to the military appreciation event received a 20% off coupon. Shoe Sensation is a company that values communities. We are honored to partner with the community for these events. It was a great opportunity to support our National Guard and we just appreciate everyone who attended or supported it in any way.”

Shoe Sensation plans to host the event again next year as well. But you don’t have to wait that long for another community minded event. Jenkins said, “We are going to be having a Fall Harvest Day on Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be different vendors set up for Fall items. We will also be offering a coupon, gift card drawing and refreshments.”

Make sure to stop by Shoe Sensation for their Fall Harvest Day!
